Katie Taube joined the KSN News team in January of 2012 and was promoted to Anchor of Kansas Today in January of 2014. You may also recognize her as the former Anchor on Fox Kansas News at 9. Katie comes to KSN from KSFY in Sioux Falls, SD where she anchored the 5, 6 and 10p.m. newscasts. Katie grew up in Geneseo, Illinois and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and remains a huge fan of the Fighting Illini. In college she twirled with the Marching Illini and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
Far away from her home team, now Katie enjoys cheering for Wichita State University and other local college teams.
Working in television news has been a dream of Katie’s since she was young. She taped her first ‘news program’ at the age of 8 and never looked back, though she hopes her abilities have greatly improved since then! Katie was able to make her TV news dream come true and she is grateful for all of the chances given to her by previous and current employers. She considers it a privilege to share the news every day with Kansans. She began her career at WHBF in Rock Island, Illinois as a Reporter and later became the Weekend Anchor. Katie then made the leap to Weeknight Anchor at WWTV in Cadillac, Michigan.
In her first two years as the anchor of FOX Kansas News at Nine, Katie and her team won ‘Broadcast of the Year’ from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in both 2012 and 2013. Throughout her entire career, Katie has managed to consistently increase station viewership, and the results at KSN and FOX Kansas are no different. Katie enjoys telling the stories of the unique people and businesses in south central Kansas.
When Katie isn’t working in the newsroom she loves to golf and travel with her husband. She also enjoys hiking and camping. She and her husband have two kids, Hudson and Fletcher, and one furry dog. Katie is happy to be in Kansas.
